WEFTEC, an abbreviation for Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference, is considered the largest and most significant water quality trade show and conference in America. Organized by the Water Environment Federation, this annual event represents an essential meeting place to recognize the latest developments in the water industry.

It is held at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, one of the world’s most prestigious exhibition venues. Here, experts, professionals and enthusiasts from various sectors meet, mainly from the fields of drinking water, water reuse, reclamation and wastewater treatment.

Major areas of WEFTEC include the Drinking Water Pavilion, which focuses on water reuse and drinking water treatment; the Drone Pavilion, which deals with inspections and data collection; and the Innovation Pavilion, which showcases cutting-edge products and startups. Also notable are the Smart Water and Cybersecurity Pavilion, which features products that protect networks, devices and data for critical infrastructure and control and automation applications, and the Rainwater Pavilion, which highlights rainwater technologies, green rainwater infrastructure and rainwater control measures. In addition, specialized technologies for the treatment and disposal of reused water, whether rainwater or wastewater, are introduced.

A highlight of Wertec are the awards for innovative products and the challenging “Operations Challenge” skills competition for water reclamation facility personnel.
