BIOGAS HANDLING
BIOGAS FLARE
A biogas flare is used to safely burn excess biogas that is produced during the anaerobic digestion of sludge. When the gas cannot be stored, utilized for energy generation, or fed into boilers or engines, the flare provides a secure method of disposal. By combusting the methane-rich biogas, it prevents the uncontrolled release of methane into the atmosphere, which is far more harmful as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. At the same time, flaring controls odours and destroys other volatile compounds, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Overall, the biogas flare serves as both a safety device and an environmental protection measure in the treatment plant.
CHARACTERISTICS & ADVANTAGES

Pressure control
Prevents over-pressurization of digesters or gas storage by burning off surplus gas.

Odour control
Prevents releease of raw biogas (contains H2S, volatile organics) that cause strong odors and air quality issues.

BIOGAS DRYER
A biogas dryer is used to remove moisture from the biogas produced during the anaerobic digestion of sludge. Raw biogas typically contains a significant amount of water vapor, which can condense in pipelines and equipment, causing corrosion, blockages, and reduced efficiency in downstream systems such as gas engines, turbines, or boilers. By drying the biogas, the unit improves its calorific value, protects equipment from damage, and ensures more reliable and efficient energy recovery. In this way, the biogas dryer plays a key role in upgrading raw biogas into a cleaner, safer, and more efficient fuel for energy use within the plant.
CHARACTERISTICS & ADVANTAGES

Prevents corrosion
Moisture carries acidic gases, which corrode pipes, CHP engines, boilers, and compressors.

Dry gas is less likely to cause mechanical damage or fouling in turbines and engines.
Reduces wear
